Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Amrita University) is a University established under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.The University focuses on higher education and research in the areas of Engineering, Medicine, Management, Arts & Sciences, Education, Mass Communication and Social Work.
The University has five campuses at Amritapuri (Kollam), Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Kochi and Mysuru.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is conducting Entrance Examination every year on an all India basis for admission to the 4 year B.Tech. Degree programmes offered in the three campuses at Amritapuri (Kollam, Kerala), Bengaluru (Karnataka) and Ettimadai (Coimbatore).
The examination is referred to as  Amrita Entrance Examination- Engineering, in short as AEEE .


Age – Candidates shall be born on or after 1st July 2000 

Educational Qualification –  A pass in 10 + 2 (Class XII) or its equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate of marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and with not less than 55% in each of these three subjects.

Candidates seeking admission with Pearson UG Entrance Examination score alone shall have an aggregate minimum of 75% in PCM with not less than 75% in Mathematics.

Registration for AEEE 2021 is fully online. Candidates are required to have their recent photograph, online payment credentials, etc. to be ready to complete the online application process.

One candidate shall submit only one application form.
Multiple applications, i.e. more than one application from a candidate may get rejected.

APPLICATION FEE For AEEE : INR 1000 for candidates seeking admission through Amrita Entrance Examination – Engineering 2021 and INR 300 for candidates seeking admission based on the rank / score secured in JEE Mains 2021. Candidates need to pay only INR 1200 if they wish to secure admission through both AEEE 2021 rank and JEE Mains 2021 rank.
The application fee may be paid either by credit/debit card or net banking.
Fee submitted through any other mode like money order, demand draft, IPO etc. is not accepted for online applications.
Application fee once paid will not be refunded (full or partial) under any circumstances.
In case the examination fee is paid through credit/debit card, the  candidates may have to pay an additional processing charge as per government rules.

Admission to B.Tech Programmes offered at Amrita Schools of Engineering –  Amaravati, Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore campuses for the academic year 2021 is through :

Amrita Entrance Examination –  Engineering 2021 (AEEE  2021) / Joint  Entrance Examination Mains 2021 (JEE Mains 2021) and is based on the rank secured in AEEE 2021/JEE Mains 2021.
70% of the seat allotment will be through AEEE 2021 and 30% through JEE Mains 2021 (one of the sessions)
A candidate can choose to apply either through AEEE 2021 / JEE Mains 2021 or both


Amrita Entrance Examination – Engineering 2021 (AEEE 2021) Amrita Entrance Examination – Engineering 2021 is conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in online mode with Remote Proctoring & in Computer Based Test mode at selected cities. The test will be of 90 minutes duration with 60 questions. 

AEEE EXAM PATTERN: AEEE Entrance Exam consists of three sections :


The pattern of examination paper for AEEE – 2021 is of Duration: 90 minutes

  • Physics - 15
  • Chemistry - 10
  • Mathematics – 30

·         English - 05

Total number of questions is 60
All the questions are of Multiple Choice type and will have four answers of equal weightage i.e. 3 marks are awarded for each correct answer and -1 (negative one) for each wrong answer. 

The questions are based on the syllabus JEE Mains 2021 

AEEE will be conducted in three phases in the month of April, June / July 2021 

Are the multiple sessions at AEEE 2021 useful ? 

This will give multiple opportunities to the candidates to improve their scores in the examination if they fail to give their best in one attempt.

In the first attempt, the students will get a firsthand experience of taking an examination and will know their mistakes which they can improve while attempting for the next time.

This will reduce the chances of dropping a year and droppers would not have to waste a full year.

If anyone missed the examination due to reasons beyond control (such as Board examination), then he/she will not have to wait.

A candidate need not appear in all three Sessions. However, if the candidate appears in more than one Session then his/her best of the 2021 AEEE Scores will be considered for preparation of Merit List/ Ranking 

Remote Proctored Examination (Secured)  

Remote Proctored Examination can be attended from home on a laptop/PC with good internet connectivity. It is important to have a webcam connected to the computer. The examination will be proctored remotely by the university staff.

Centre Based Test (CBT)  

Centre Based Examination (CBE) will be conducted only in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu & Telangana states. University will take all precautionary measures to ensure social distancing at examination centres and will have a proper disinfection system in place.   

AEEE 2021 Timings  

09:30 - 11:00 AM; 12:30 - 02:00 PM; 03:30 - 05:00 PM (slot bookings will be opened in advance before the first phase of examination)

AEEE ADMIT CARD : Admit Card to write the examination is generated only to those eligible candidates who have submitted their application form complete in all respects, on or before the last date specified. Admit cards to attend AEEE 2021 shall be downloaded from the  website by logging into their registered account using their  registered Email ID / Application Number and Date of Birth. Intimation in this regard is sent by SMS and email.
Admit Card will not be sent by post.
